HOMILY: (Sts.Timothy and Titus, Bps.). 2Tim.1:1-8; Ps.96:1-3,7-8,10; Mk.3:20-21.

A certain song comes to mind – “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine…” This song reminds us that none is so dark, that there can be no little light. Where people see darkness, God sees light. Remember Paul? We celebrated his conversion yesterday. Today, we celebrate two of his converts to Christianity; Timothy whom Paul entrusted the care of the Christians in Ephesus, and Titus, who looked after the Church in Crete.

Paul’s ministry among the Gentiles was so successful, one could never think this was the same Saul that had previously persecuted Christians. Friends, Timothy and Titus tapped from Paul’s anointing and were able to fan into flame the gift God gave them through the laying on of hands. We are called to do the same. Let’s not be ashamed of witnessing to the Lord – on the bus, at work, in the markets and malls, at cinemas, in schools, everywhere. This is exactly what Jesus did that people thought he was mad. God’s Spirit in us is not that of timidity, but of power, love and self control. May that little light in us shine, Amen.

Good morning dear. God bless your weekend. Saints Timothy and Titus, pray for us.
