THEME: LISTEN TO HIM.

MARK 9:2-13

We are preoccupied with responsibilities that only a few things and people get our attention. Those who advertise their services or products on the media repeat their messages so frequently to get the needed attention of their audience. Sometimes, they repeat an advert or a message nearly 20 times with the hope ofgetting as much attention as possible.

Teachers and parents may have a similar experience when they repeat a message many times before their students or children get it. God speaks to us more often than advertisers, parents, and teachers. He speaks to us in all circumstances of life.

In the darkness of disappointments, God shows us a glimpse of the light at the end of a dark tunnel. The Apostles of Jesus were in their lowest ebb as they struggled to understand the impending scandal of the cross. The transfiguration of Jesus rekindled their hope. The appearance of Jesus changed and He glittered. They sawaglimpse of the glory of Jesus and had a better idea of His divinity. They heard the voice of God saying to them, “Listen to him” Usually, in moments of darkness and disappointments, many voices are telling us to go here and go there for solutions. Do we listen and pay attention to the voice of Jesus in confusing moments?
